|
|
Using a PVR-150 MCE I ran into two issues:
1) The tuner wasn't recognized.
I fixed this using a Tuner=50 option on the ivtv using debian modconf
2) On boot the ivtv would complain:
ivtv0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw
ivtv0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug firmware directory?
ivtv0 warning: failed loading encoder firmware
ivtv0 warning: Error loading firmware -3!
However, if I did a rmod ivtv; modprobe ivtv the firmware would be loaded. I created a startup script to execute these two commands (see http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/28 for debian way to setup startup scripts) and it fixed this problem. Now that I write this, I am wondering if my fix for 1) caused the problem with 2). Is there a recommended way to add module options in KnoppMyth? |

You shouldn't have to force the tuner type, it should be autodetected.
Try step 4 in the CompileIvtv directions on the wiki (http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CompileIvtv). You may also want to do the step to verify that your firmware is correct.
BTW - What is the history of the box? If this is an upgrade from a previous install, especially pre-R5B7 you should also do steps 8-11as noted in the R5C7 upgrade hints posting here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10116 |
